It is in the heart of every Christian to be used of God. There is much work to be done and the Lord of the harvest is calling for laborer. First of all, you must have a sure knowledge of your own salvation. You are witnesses for the Lord, "I know whom I have believed" (2 Timoithy 1:12). "This is the record, that God have given to you eternal life" (1 John 5:11). "The Spirit itself bear with witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God" (Romans 8"16).
You must have a working knowledge of the Holy Scripture. Thw Word alone reveals the plan of God for this life and eternity. By the Word you know about prayer, about healing, about giving, about walking with the Lord, about heaven and hell.
You need to be filled with the Spirit. Then you must be led by the Holy Spirit. Only the Spirit can anoint you for truly effective service.
You must have a heart of genuine love for others. Only the love of Jesus can constrain you to be used of God. It was love that compelled Jesus to come, to heal, then to die for us and now it is through His love that we are to live for the others.
You must know and practice the power of prayer. God promises to do amazing things in answer to Scripture praying. You must invest, for example, your money in the Lord's work. Your money is a part of your lives. Bountiful, liberal, cheerful giving always pleases the Father.
You must be bold and fearless. "The righteous are bold as a lion" (Proverbs 28:1). Remember, it was boldness that the early Christians prayed so earnestly (Acts 4:29). The Lord will give you this holy boldness, which means confidence, courage, fearlessness and darig. You must explicitly obey the Lord's Word. "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. These signs shall follow them that believe. In my Name shall they cast out devils, they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover" (Mark 16:17-18). DARE TO CARRY OUT HIS ORDERS!
And last of all, to be used of God, you must Seek to bring glory and honor to Him. How? by yielding yourself to Him and pray "Here I am" Then ask as Paul did, "Lord, what wilt thou have me to do?" (Acts 9:6).
"My grace is sufficient for thee, for my strength is made perfect in weakness" (2 Corinthians 12"9)

so that's why we can depend upon God for anything and i mean ANYTHING, there was a time when i had a desire to do something the thing i did wrong was thinking i could do things by the strength of my own hands. result: i fell flat on my face. then i realised through that mistake is that i really REALLY need God. the desire to do something may be there but then where is the strength going to come from you can try to do it by your own strength but sooner or later you will get tired and weary then who's going to take over for you.
i learned God is my support, my partner, my rock and my STRENGTH.
coz well im falling he supports me, when im lonely he talks to me, when i want to build something for him he provides the foundation for me and if ever i get tired or weary he strengthens me.
"he gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might he increases strength............And to those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength" (isaiah 40:29-31)
God bless.

Hi Candance
As long as you do this I am positive God will grant to you your desire. But remember our time is not God's time and as N-SSI says we receive the things from God according to our motives for wanting that thing.
So continue in your faith, just put in the hands of God and He will do the rest
God bless you

God says in His immutable Word , "not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit" (Zech. 4:6). He knows what the desires of your heart are, and even knows -not only your thoughts on this issue (becoming and assistant)- but the motive behind your thought/desire. When you delight yourself in the Lord Jesus (not by actions but by the motive behind the thought that drives you to take these actions) He will give you the desires of your heart. God said so. And He does not lie!
May the God of the Bible bless you!

CANDICE I appreciate your commitment to GOD. Keep it up and meditate with Him through His word.
Your Topic seems not to be complete to me. I have completed by reading your story. As a new soldier of God you must stand firm in Jesus and respond to His voice whenever He is telling you something. Please do not pospone for another time for the HOLY SPIRIT is gentle.
Do not let a week pass without winning a soul to accept the Lord Jesus Christ and be in His presence at all times. Encourage the Youth to be in the presence of God and let the will of God be done in their lives. I am a soldier and :soul winner too.
May the Love of God Be in you forever and ever.
