When you want something in life make sure of exactly what you want. Plan yourself, be focused and be determined.
For example people say they want to be a doctor, but they don't specify exactly what sort of doctor they want to be and just start studying and when they have finished, they may have a degree, but don't have a specific doctoral practice. Which in the end causes them to do something else or take odd jobs here and there.
Another example it's like somebody who says I want to go to Florida to live there but they don't have a plan in regards to how they will make a living in Florida. They know they want to live there but everything else about it is superficial.

“ Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it." (Some write it, but don't do it clearly (plain, simple) or write it but don't run with it)

Proverbs 29:18
"Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he." (Basically stick to your goal and don't lose hope and let the Word of God be your law (advice book))

how i saw it was if you want to be somebody you should say what you want to be because if you say i want to be somebody you can be a nurse (thats somebody) but its not what your heart wants, you want you own hospital.
its just like praying to be in the finalls ...you can become fith...why not pray to become first (the finall thing actually did happen in church with a football player, he came fith out of 500)
by the way did you just want opinions or did you just not understand the proverb

I must agree with Godchild, the qoute is quite self explanatory. Or if you want an example...many youths say "i want to be famous"..... but here comes the most important question....IN WHAT???

Ok now let me understand, I've wanted to be someone......more specific. These are the key words take for example instead of wishing you were someone better be more specific like where do you want to be better, how, what will you do to get there, etc. A good example of this is the month of excellence you want to excel in you....(let me think)....spiritial life but you are not specific so how do you think you are going to get from A to B.
