Peter Ch 3 v 8 & 9 say's

But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.The Lord is not slack concerning His promise,as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us,not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

I don't wait because the Lord Jesus is going to come as a thief in the night so i don't know when He is coming, but i have a hope that He will come for me,when He does come and besides people will be waiting for Him but He isn't going to come to bring peace but fire to the earth, just be prepared! :) God bless

I believe that when the Bible talks about hope or "the hope" it is different than the hope the world usually talks about.

When unbelievers say they are hoping, they are rarely expressing anything positive. When the Bible tells us to have hope, it is telling us to expect something positive. When we have hope, we are not just waiting, but we have a positive expectation. The opposite of despair. We need to expect the best because that is what Jesus paid for. Nothing less.

That’s challenging!!! They are slightly different, but… I’m finding it hard to explain. I’m almost confused (specially ‘cause in my language we translate both verbs with a single word: “esperar”. But even same words can have different meanings… Ok, are you already confused?) . I’ll just try:

I guess we could compare wait with natural faith and hope with supernatural faith:

You wait for something or someone that you are already expecting to come.
Remember all the people you saw today, standing at the bus stop. They were waiting for the bus. It passes by every day, same place, same time.

You hope for something to happen or to be true, and you have to work hard (mostly by yourself) not only to think that it might, but also to use the power of faith you have inside to make it happen, to make it true.
Think about Abraham’s story: he was a man that hoped against hope. No one believed he could be a father (not even his wife) therefore, no one was waiting to see him holding a child of his own.

When you have big dreams, even when none of your friends buy them, keep your hopes high and do something about it! Use the power God has given to you and never give up! Always hope against hope, but never wait for the blessings to fall into your lap (cause they won’t). ;)
