A moment of reflection

you have opened my eyes to make me realise that not everyone wants the best for me, You have allowed me to survive a car crash having walked away injury free.

You have fed me, having had not a penny to my name nor borrowed from my family members, Lord God i just want you know that my gratitude cannot be expressed thorugh the things that i remember.

You gave your Son for my salvation and everyday i wonder why, it sounds stupid but sometimes i look for a reaction from you in the sky.
Whether it be a change in the shape of the cloud, or a flicker from a star or someting at night, I just love you so much and i sometimes well up because of your delight.

You are there for me, even though , those closest to me have literally left me alone, at one stage because i talked to you so much and sought you throughout these times , i asked you to make sure i wasn't going mad because it would seem like i was talking to myself on my own.

But i am 100% sure that your plans for me are all good and i also believe that these tribulations that i have gone through will all be understood.

I know that some of the things i have been through have been because You want to humble me and because of my disobedience, Sometimes i ask you over and over again to forgive me , because even up until now i cannot comprehend your lenience.

But anyway, when you do allow me to enter your promised land and i am filled , i can promise with all of my heart, soul and mind YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN. Because how can i despise the one who got me there, when through my bad times, through my foolish times, my disobedient times ... all the rest of the world , except for you was rotten.

If this life was perfect

Than everybody and everything in this earth would be perfect

As the good book says only one is good

That’s why in life we are sometimes misunderstood

Misunderstood by those who are close, and even those who are far

And the truth is, we life in a world full of mistakes; nobody is a star

But one thing we have to learn is we all make mistakes

And sometimes because of them, we put our life, relationships and other things at stake

Somebody once said “Admitting error clears the score and proves you wiser than before”

Meaning?

Meaning that we always have to learn from our errors

And let our mistakes become our mentors

That also explains why God is always ready to forgive

Giving us a new chance,

Making sure we don’t run to the nearest cliff

So if all you have faced is rejection

Lift up your head and find comfort in God’s perfection

And if life has made you somebody to rather forget

Always remember nobody is perfect

The Rope

A story is told about a mountain climber who liked to climb tall mountains for fun and to impress his friends. After years of preparation and training he felt he could handle any mountain terrain in the world, regardless of the degree of difficulty.

During a climbing trip, with five other men, he decided he would make the final climb to the summit, solo, so he could get there first and claim the glory, while the others slept. After the rest of the climbing party turned-in for the night, he put on his climbing gear and headed toward the summit. As he started his climb, he was very glad there was a full moon to help him see where he was going.

Although it was foolish to climb at night, alone, he did use a rope and put in good piton protection as he climbed. With the benefit of the full moon, he made rapid progress up the mountain, in spite of the fact he was climbing at night. His confidence soared as he neared the summit, but unfortunately, thick clouds were starting to build around the mountain, and visibility was deteriorating rapidly, as a winter storm developed. In just a few minutes visibility dropped to almost zero, as heavy clouds and fog surrounded him. It was now too late to turn back, so he continued to climb up the mountain, hoping the storm would blow by quickly.

While moving along a narrow traverse, now in total darkness, he got into some “rotten rock,” and slid down the side of the ridge and over the edge of a cliff. The good news is the protection he put in held, and he was still alive after the fall; although he now found himself dangling in the air, suspended from his rope, unable to see anything around him. The bad news is, he had loosely tied his outer heavy parka across the top of his backpack while he was climbing, and he now discovered he had lost it during the fall. Slowly the cold night air from the storm began to chill him to the bone through his lightweight inner jacket. After struggling to turn himself around in a circle, and not finding anything to grab onto, in desperation he cried out, “Oh dear God in Heaven, please help me!”

Suddenly, from above he heard a strong deep voice boom out, “Cut the rope!” “What?!” As the climber listened over the wind, once again he heard a deep voice say, “Cut the rope!”

Except for the wind, silence followed, as the climber continued to hang onto the rope, while hoping to be able to grab onto something that would enable him to climb to safety. Unable to see his true situation, the climber concluded, as most people would, that hanging onto the rope was his only hope.

The following day, the rest of his climbing party discovered him frozen to death, still dangling from his rope -- only eight feet above a large out-cropping of rock. Had the climber cut the rope, he would have dropped down to a relatively safe area, where he could have built a fire, using some of the surrounding scrub brush, and probably survived the night.

From this tragic, hopefully fictional story, we can learn about trusting God. Do you look for security in a “rope” of some form? Or, are you willing to trust God with the many things in life beyond your knowledge or control?

Try to always remember: “For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.” Isaiah 41:13.

The Parable of the Two Servants

There once was a man who had two indentured servants. One day a disagreement arose between them as to who was the greatest in the eyes of their master. So they went to the master of the house and asked him, "My lord, which of us is greater?"

The master of the house replied, "I will let you discover that for yourself. I will ask each of you a question and you must answer truthfully."

So the servants stood before him and he started to question them. To the first servant, he asked, "What do you do for me?"

"Sir, I work in the fields all day long to grow wheat for my lord's granary," the first servant replied. "Then, at night, I go through the house and fill all the lamps so that my lord will have light. For this you pay me a wage, but I hope that one day that I may earn my freedom."

The master nodded his head. He turned to the second indentured servant and asked, "And what do you do for me?"

"Sir," he replied, "I am an educated man. I am well-versed in literature, music, mathematics and science. I teach your children all that I know so that one day they may leave your house and make a success in the world. And when they do, I hope that you will grant me my freedom. In the meantime, you give me a wage for what I do."

Again, the master nodded. Then he turned to a lowly slave who was standing nearby, and asked, "And what do you do for me?"

"You know that I love you, my lord, and my only wish is to do whatever you ask," the slave answered without hesitation. "You bought me and I know that I will be a slave for life, therefore I earn no wage. But you are kind and merciful to me, and do not beat me as other masters beat their slaves. You are wise and just and kind and that is why I love you."

The master of the house smiled. "Then you are the greatest of all my servants and I will make you a free man."

When they heard this, the two servants were aghast. "Why him?" they cried. "We do much more work than he does. He waits around for you to give him an order, but we labor in your fields without orders, teach your children, and light your lamps. We work unceasingly and should be rewarded."

"Yes," the master of the house replied. "You do work in my fields, and do all the other things that you said. But this man wants only to serve me, not himself. He waits patiently until I tell him what I want him to do. His faithfulness has never failed him. He now has his reward -- his freedom. And I will place him as overseer, and you will be his servants. Because of his faithful service to me -- though he was once a lowly slave -- he is truly the greater."

Obey them not only to win their favor when their eye is on you, but like slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from your heart. Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not men, because you know that the Lord will reward everyone for whatever good he does, whether he is slave or free. (Ephesians 6:6-8 NIV)

God the father, Church my mother

As an orphan to my birth parents, i depend upon my other mother and Father to raise me.
Dad tries to speak to my mum, telling her to consider her family first, but she has her own problems to worry about like debts for the gas, electric, council tax and even the TV.She argues with Dad Nagging Him to do His part, even though He did it along time ago. I am not her priority, which is what makes me fragile and that makes her fragile.
Father cannot be around me right now because i am always stumbling, but He sent my brother to put me straight and because He hasn't done anything wrong, Father is always willing to listen and coming to my aid. But mum still isn't listening.
If only mum would listen, she would overcome alot more than she has, but the family are not united. If we were, she would see that her problems were so small and blessings would come rolling in, I LOVE IT when she is excited.

Recently we had some problems with my Dad's enemy trying to, stop His family from achieving in Peckham. But because mum was concerned still about things so mediocre to Dad (which she is still bugging about), Dad left mum to worry about her own problems and did what came first. He took care of His family.

When I open my bible and I see the cross
I must say for words I am at loss
It seems so cruel so grisly so cold
The tears run freely as the story unfolds
I try to imagine what you went through
But nothing comes clear to what you had to do
To nail a man and hang him up on a tree
Then leave him to die for all to see
Is so barbaric it doesn't seem real
I wonder how Barbados looking on did feel.

Did he turn away or stand there and grin
Did he realise Jesus was taking our sin
There was no compassion for the son of man
They left him there naked on a tree to hang
Blooded and fouling a gross thing to see
Jesus done this to save you and me
His aching body so battered and torn
This was the reason Jesus was born
Because this doesn't happen in our present day
We can never understand the price he had to pay

Yet in roman times this was common place
To crucify anyone was total disgrace
When you read of the things that Jesus went through
Do you turn away like Barbados did do
Or do you gain an insight to the scorn and shame
The description when Jesus called out God's name
My God my God why have you forsaken me
Abandoned and lonely what a sorrowful plea
A crown of thorns adorned his head
And after 9 hours our Saviour was dead

To die in this way it was God's will
For Jesus to die on Calvary's hill
But the story does not end quite there
Out of all that our Lord had to bear
After three days he rose again
Arising in radiance he was no longer in pain
Giving life eternal for all who believe
In being born again they can receive
The Holy Spirit it's for you and me
Look into the bible its in John 3.3

More Like Jesus

Let us be more like Jesus
In everything we do;
Let’s live a life of service,
A life that’s fresh and new.

Let’s relinquish worldly things,
And not be slaves to fashion;
Let’s fill our hearts with love,
Forgiveness and compassion.

Yes, let’s be more like Jesus,
Being always in God’s will,
For if Jesus’ light shines through us,
Our earthly purpose we’ll fulfill.

To Do List From God

I ran my life in search of worldly things;
My time and will were firmly in control.
I thought I had no need for what God brings;
I gave no heed to murmurs from my soul.

“You’re planning, doing all the time,” it said,
“But something else is missing deep inside.
Your mind is whirling, but your heart is dead,
So turn to God and let go of your pride.”

I did, and God said, “Here’s My plan for you:
Give your life to Me, and just let go.
Have faith and pray, and read the Bible through,
And you’ll have blessings more than you can know.”

So simple, yet it brings me perfect peace,
Living life for God the way I should.
Direction, purpose, fullness and release—
Life with God is very, very good.

Bible or TV Guide
On the table side by side:
The Holy Bible and the TV Guide.
One's well worn but cherished with pride
(Not the Bible, but the TV Guide).
One's used daily to help folk decide,
No! It isn't the Bible,it's the TV Guide.
As pages are turned, what will they see?
Oh, what does it matter, turn on the TV.
Then confusion reigns, they can't all agree
On what they will watch on the old TV.
So they open the book in which they confide
(Not the Bible, it's the TV Guide).
The Word of God is seldom read-
Maybe a verse o'er they fall into bed
Exhausted and sleepy and tired as can be,
(Not from reading the Bible: from watching TV).
So then back to the table, side by side,
Are the Holy Bible and the TV Guide.
No time for prayer, no time for the Word.
The way of salvation is seldom heard.
Abiding in Christ so full and free
is found in the Bible, not on TV.

QUOTE (Korin @ Mar 12 2008, 04:26 PM) *
Too Busy for Jesus

The dream became clearer as I tossed around in my sleep.
The Lord was calling my name over and over, so loud and deep.
The voice surrounded my bedroom, I stared within.
He said, "This is Jesus, my friend, where have you been?"

He said, "My dear brethren, what have you done today,
to walk in my footsteps and try not to stray?
Not once have you been humble on your knees in prayer.
Son, you must shine my light and show others you care."

I saw you yesterday, only glancing at the man on the road.
He was having car trouble and needed to be towed.
You said, "I can't stop or I will surely be late,
someone will help him soon, he'll just have to wait."

"One of your workers has been sick and almost died.
This lady is a widow and food for five she must buy.
You have plenty and you're never hungry when you go to bed.
Why are you so greedy and trying to get ahead?

"What if I had been too busy to die on the cross?
You would never walk the streets of gold, your soul would be lost.
What if I had been too busy to hear you that day,
when you asked forgiveness and earnestly prayed?"

I awoke from my deep slumber and my heart felt content.
I thanked the Lord on my knees, for the message He had sent.
So many times, I take for granted the small things He has given to me.
Without the Lord in my life each day, I am blind and cannot see.
