Yeah it hurts a lot. But its nice to take heart from the fact that God rebukes those who He loves! So if you do get rebuked it may be painful for a while but at least you know that the love of God Almighty is with you! Amen. B)

:D To get rebuked is something that no humanbieng like, but for as christian we need to get rebuk, Just think about this; if people do not get rebuk how would we learn from our mistake? As for me I do not like getting rebuk but I have to because it helps. If you are seriuos obout changing your life; spiritual speaking when you get rebuk keep this in mind: DO NOT GET ANGRY OR HOLD A GRUDGE TO THE PERSON WHO REBUKED INSTEAD, GET REVOLTED OBOUT THE SITUATION AND DETERMINE THAT YOU ARE GOING TO CHANGE THAT. Rebuk can lift your faith up! God bless!

Think about it like this: RUBUKE HAS PUT YOU WHERE YOU ARE TODAY. IT HAS ALSO GIVEN YOU THE OPPORTUNITY TO RECIEVE SALVATION. IT TAUGHT YOU HOW TO BEHAVE IN CLASS, AT HOME AND AMONG FAMILY, ALSO IT'S WHAT HAS HELPED YOU TO BE THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD. GOD BLESS

ITS A PROCESS we gots to go through yo. ;)
It refines us to.

There are two ways you can take your rebuke...you can either walk away with a frown adn think who was he to speak to me like that, think of an excuse in your heart, maybe not say it to the pastors face, but you will try and justify yourself and while all this is fuming up your chest is puffing up bigger untill it bursts out confettis with pride written all over them ...OR ...you can walk back ashamed, humiliated with a hot face, your eyes are burning from the tears of humiliation, but yet you go home revolted..at yourself, you look yourself in your room and you plead with God saying 'my God whats wrong with me, what have i done , forgive me and help me to put this behind'..there you have the prayer of a proud and humble man...

The first time i was rebuked, i was still converting and i reacted with a bit of both.(the situation kinda make s me giggle now..so silly i was! :D )..yea, i first reacted in a proud way but as i went home in the breeze as soon as i got home i locked myself in my room..and well in short..i did what the humble man did...

its all worth it.

Oh my gosh snnmbeleg, thats what happened to me. There are times when i wanted to avoid being rebuked as well, but...it just ends up being worst. Now i have learnt that whatever problems i have going through even if its small i should get advice from someone who can help me, instead of dealing with it myself and getting into more trouble. I should also listen when someone is trying to help me.

Indeed boardmaster i thank God everyday that he sends people like you to help me through and it does help me to grw stronger.

I just thank God for all the helpful replies to this topic because as I'm quite new to having any kind of responsibility, I've nver been rebuked within the church. But I'm kinda bracing myself for one now cause sooner or later I'm gonna make a mistake that can't be overlooked, but at least now even my initial reaction will be positive!

u shoudln't b expecting a rebukin bcos then ur tryin 2 please man and not God and dis is where evry1 makes da mistake da first time i got rebuked i got scared and eva since then i always scared of dat pastor and i worked hard 2 make sure i neva got another rebuking from dat pastor cos i was scared, so cos i was pleasing man and tryin 2 avoid a rebukin, i made even more mistakes and got even more rebukings and every tribe dat i led at da time FLOPPED! misrablellly (i think dats how its spelt) cos i was tryin 2 please man and avoid a rebuking
moral is don't look for a rebukin or look 2 man 4 a rebukin- rememba da rebukin comes from God according 2 wat u need 2 learn at da time or situation- rememba we do wat we do 4 God NOT man even da rebukin's
and rememba u think u can handle a rubuking but rebuking's are meant 2 teach....and grow from, not HANDLE......

hmmm intersting and sensitive topic,

Why interesting? Because as you all say it deals a lot with humbling yourself and ignoring yourself.

Sensitive why? Because it`s not easy, it can get hard and rough sometimes and not all people can take the same degree of rebuking, because not all are ready for the rice and solid food as Paul said some still have to be fed milk

But what you have to know is that its God`s quickest way of showing you right from wrong and letting you be humble and grow. If you realise that you are being rebuked by God than be shure that its for you own good, like your mother and father did when you were a child they didnt hit/rebuke you because they felt like "hey i`ve got nothing to do let`s hurt my son or daughter" no but to teach never to do that again.
Look at the men of God that were rebuked and accepted it and grew from that. Job, David, Paul etc etc

MJM as for unfair rebuking by a pr., aux pr. or whoever. Is your God blind???? Does He not see what is going on? He does and He`s looking at your reaction will you exlode in the face of an higher authority or behind his back then (Numbers 12:1-16 though Moses was wrong God was more angry with Mirjam for going angainst a higher authority like that. She was more wrong) or will you trust in God thinkin I have a God who never fails look at Daniel. So my friend don`t fear when there is injustice a blessing is being formed and God is near and you are growing stonger in this battle which alo happens to happen with the permission of God. So what o do, be silent and let God work dont take the work from His hands, remember injustice never beats thruth

God bless
Great works are performed not by strength but by perseverance

honestly speaking being rebuked, it shows that god loves you, do you know how painful it is when someone doesn't care of being ignored, i prefer to be rebuked, because im being strengthened.

SO CHILDREN OF GOD ALLOW YOUR SELF TO BE REBUKED, HEY DON'T GET ME WRONG IM NOT SAYING GO AND SIN AND BE REBUKED, THINK SPIRITUALLY NOT PHYSICALLY,PLEASE

BEING REBUKED IT SHOWS THAT WE ARE LOVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IM OUT ..........................................................

GOOD BLESS YOU ALL B)

I have also been rebuked to the point i am about to cry. During this time i am wondering why is she saying this to me but....it helps ALOT. I have made so many mistakes and sometimes i don't learn from them. SILLY i know but...if i don't have people like my cousins to rebuke me from the mistakes i have done then i don't know what type of person or what i would be doing right now.

I have never hold a grudge or hate them for this but...it makes me love them even more because i know they love me this much to do this for me.

thats very true Glory! and the right way to take it, God rebukes those He loves, its better to be rebuked for doing something wrong then for someone to see you're doing wrong and let you continue until you fall into a trap, God knows our tendencies...and as His children He has the right to put us in our place..even if He does it through a VERY tough pastor!! , you learn...boy, i learnt,AND i cried and because of that I made sure i NEVER did it again! and i thank and love God for that!

I know one thing as long as we are living we will make mistakes and faults therefore we will be rebuked because a father rebukes the ones he loves, but i know there are some rebukes comes because we caused it, which is not the best ones at all but the ones that we know were not caused by us will indeed show if we are of God or not, how? through our reaction not only physically but in our hearts because thats where God will be looking.

Remain blessed.
